At the eco.love vineyards in breathtaking Marlborough, New Zealand, we grow our grapes in a way that isn’t just right for right now, but right for generations to come. We believe in taking care of the environment, and that is why we have committed ourselves to being a carboNZero Cert TM Wine. Managed by Landcare Research New Zealand, the carboNZero wine program aims to help organizations lower their carbon footprint. In order to become a participant of the carboNZeroCert TM program, we needed to Measure, Manage and Mitigate our impact on the environment.

By measuring our impact from daily operations ranging from production to distribution, we were able to manage our impact by reducing energy consumption in all areas of the process. We employed new energy efficient techniques that allow us to recycle the heat and water from one area of production and resuse it in another area, and by using the award winning “cold cellar” system, which pulls cold air in from the outside to keep the winery cool on the inside, we can further reduce our consumption of electricity. In addition to these measures, we have purchased carbon credits through the Landacre Research Program, thereby mitigating, or offsetting the effects of the carbon emissions generated and released through eco.love. It’s practices like these in addition to adhering to the standards of Sustainable Wine Growing New Zealand (SWNZ) that sets eco.love apart.

All of these efforts allow us to proudly display the carboNZero TM Cert label on all our bottles of eco.love wine. Proud of our wine. Proud of our environment. Enjoy all of our wines, with pride.
