About: McBride Sisters

Andrea McBride

Tell me a couple of basic things about you?

My name is Andrea McBride, Taurus/Gemini, USC Alumna, Global Nomad that loves good parties, interesting people and awesome wines.

Were did you grow up and what was it like?
I was born in Los Angeles California and moved to Marlborough, New Zealand when I was six. Growing up in New Zealand was amazing; it has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. I spent a lot of time in the vineyards with my uncle, hanging out at the beach with my family, playing out late at night as a kid, getting into all sorts of trouble. Good times, good times.

What is your worst habit?
Worst quality that’s easy, I’m kind of rough on stuff.

What things do you find yourself doing that you said you’d “never” do?
I never thought I would jump off a bridge with a big piece of string tied to my feet.

Tell me about a memorable moment in your life; a time you will never forget?
Most memorable moment is when I met my sister for the first time.

You love when…?
I love it when sweet corn meets butter, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese and chili powder.

Do you have any nicknames?
My sister calls me Dame of the Savage Grape. Why? Because I’m obsessed with New Zealand wine! OK, so maybe I am, but we all have issues…

The smartest thing you have heard/or done?
To accomplish great things, you must dream as well as act.

If you could be an animal what would it be, and why?
“Sip the sweet moments. Let your true colors glow. Don’t get your feathers ruffled over little things. Just wing it. Take yourself lightly and keep your visits short and sweet.” – Ms. Hummingbird.

Describe your sister in 5 words?
Robin McBride: First-class, polished, pale, entrepreneurial mommy (I guess that’s six).

What was the nicest act of human kindness you’ve performed or benefited from?
Human Kindness, no matter how small, can change your life. I have so many people to thank that have shaped me through simple acts. I try to return the favor, by passing it on.

When I say eco.love wines, you say…
eco.love wines = Unreasonable fun that results from rewriting the rulebook, Pineapple-Lumps and Snifters (RIP).

Robin McBride

Tell me a couple of basic things about you?
I am Robin McBride, Virgo, mother of three who loves good times with family, friends and of course good wine.

Were did you grow up and what was it like?
I grew up in Monterey California, a beautiful slow paced, coastal central California town. With wine country in our backyard, we were never far from the wine experience and over time I gravitated towards the wine industry as my profession.

What is your worst habit?
My worst habit (well one of them) is that I always overindulge! That goes for wine, food, fashion, etc. Not good for the waist or pocket book. :)

What things do you find yourself doing that you said you’d “never” do?
I never thought that I would work as hard as I do AND love it!

Tell me about a memorable moment in your life; a time you will never forget?
The most memorable moment of my life was becoming a mother. There is no joy greater than the love of and for children.

You love when…?
I love when people try their hardest, but can’t stop laughing! Even better if it’s not an appropriate place or time for a good belly laugh.

Do you have any nicknames?
My sister calls me Bouchet McBride. Which is the other name for the Cabernet Franc grape which has finesse and is peppery!!! OK, OK, and because I like to shop and get good service.

The smartest thing you have heard/or done?
Believe in the power of people to create something that can be enjoyed by many and make change.

If you could be an animal what would it be, and why?
A hummingbird of course! They drink nectar (wine?) and are beautiful and resourceful – what more could you want!

Describe your sister in 5 words?
Andrea McBride: Hilarious, frugal, entrepreneur, visionary, a child at heart.

What was the nicest act of human kindness you’ve performed or benefited from?
